12/30/11 Jerry Howell, David Trevino, and Tony Kawczynski waded and drifted East Matagorda Bay using Bass Assassins' Space Guppy and Hot Chicken to bring in these 25 trout, 17-25", and 1 red.
12/29/11 Joe Gandy with a 33" redfish caught while drifting East Matagorda Bay and throwing Chicken-on-a-Chain Bass Assassins.

12/9/11..... Dan Rickett, Bill Ferro, Craig Harden, and Eddie Van Fleet drifted East Matagorda Bay with water temperatures hovering around 48-53 degrees. These fishermen had to fish very slow on the bottom over scattered shell to catch their 12 redfish and 6 trout. An additional 15-20 reds were caught and released.
12/4/11 Lowell Everitt and Freddy Krell caught these 20 trout, 18-24", while wading East Matagorda Bay. This duo released over 50 trout today with 2 up to 25-26". Baits tossed were Corkies and Bass Assassins with water conditions like glass.
11-25-11 Wayne Brueggen, Michael Boos, and Brian Cunningham waded East Matagorda Bay's mud and shell to bring in these 2 reds, 22-31", 2 flounder, 16-23", and 24 trout, 16-23". A 28" trout was caught and released. Bass Assassins' Roach and Hot Chicken were baits thrown.
11-21-11 Blake Mitchell caught these 10 trout, 17-24", on Bass Assassins' Roach, Hot Chicken, and Chicken-on-a-Chain while wading East Matagorda Bay.
11-20-11 Skip Heath and Blake Mitchell waded East Matagorda Bay for these 20 trout, 18-24". These fish were caught on Hot Chicken Bass Assassins by 8:00 AM and back to the dock.
11/15/11 Bobby Tackaberry waded East Matagorda Bay for these 10 trout, 19-24". Baits thrown were Bass Assassin 4" Sea Shad in Albino Ghost and Green Moon.
11/14/11 Billy and Steve Kees with 20 trout, 20-24", caught while wading East Matagorda Bay. Over 50 trout were caught and released, including 1 over 8 lbs and 2 over 7 lbs. Threw Hot Chicken 5" Bass Assassins and the 4" Sea Shad in Albino Ghost and Green Moon, new baits that really work launched from the Bass Assassin line.
11/13/11 Mike Duncan and Kitty Vandries with 20 trout, 20-25." Another 20+ were caught and released. These fish were brought in while wading East Matagorda Bay using Hot Chicken Bass Assassins.
11/11/11 Caleb O'Dell with a 27" redfish caught while drifting shell in East Matagorda Bay and chunking Hot Chicken Bass Assassins.
11/8/11 Skip Heath and Darrell Martin fished the Colorado River throwing top water Super Spooks, Eddie Douglas Broken Back Special, Mirrolures, and Corkies for these 20 trout, 19-24".
11/6/11 Skip and Trey Heath with 20 trout and 1 red caught while wading and drifting West Matagorda Bay and pushing Hot Chicken Bass Assassins.

11/4/11......Cecil Pancake, Steve St. Clair, and Randy Reininger drifted the Diversion Channel to catch these 18 trout, 5 flounder, and 1 red, 27 1/2". These fish were caught on Hot Chicken, Chicken-on-a-Chain, and Roach Bass Assassins. Steve St. Clair holding up the Texas Trio.
11/1/11 Kirk Templin with a 27" redfish caught while drifting West Matagorda Bay and throwing Hot Chicken Bass Assassins.
10/31/11 Bobby Tackaberry, Dale Mohn, Bruce Bain, and Darren Hance drifted West Matagorda Bay to bring in these 21 trout, 16-23", and 2 reds.
10/30/11 Skip and Trey Heath drifted West Matagorda Bay throwing Hot Chicken Bass Assassins to land these 20 trout, 17-23".
10/15/11 Performance Contractors brought in a group of 25 to fish out of Sunrise Lodge. Picked up Mike Groth along with Joe and Philip Laughlin the next morning. After breakfast at the lodge, we loaded the boat and headed out with all the other guides. We drifted over shell in West Matagorda Bay using rattling corks with plastics. Our boat ended up with 28 trout and we were back at the dock by 12:00 PM to eat some barbecue. With 25 guys and 8 boats there was a total of 30 reds and close to 100 trout brought in. A great day on the water for everyone along with some good food to boot.

10/8/11...Mike and David Powell with redfish caught in the Colorado River on live shrimp.
9/10/11 David Niles waded East Matagorda Bay today. Water was excellent with no wind. David had 10 trout, 16-25", on Hot Chicken Bass Assassins.
8/29/11 Ralph Aulds waded shell in East Matagorda Bay throwing Hot Chicken Bass Assassins to bring in these 10 trout, 16-21".
8/28/11 Stacy Schaaf and Mark Dedmon waded East Matagorda Bay night fishing using topwater She Dogs, Super Spooks, along with Morning Glory and Hot Chicken Bass Assassins to catch these 20 trout, 16-21".

8/22/11 Mike Grigar and Jim Daniel waded West Matagorda Bay to catch these 17 trout and 1 red on Okie Super Spooks and Hot Chicken Bass Assassins.
8/13/11 Nicholas Strehli with his first redfish ever.
8/19/11 Kevin Knebel, Dillion Knebel, and Lloyd Pieper drifted East Matagorda Bay to catch these reds on lime chartreuse plastics.
7/29/11 Wayne Brueggen with a 40-45# black drum caught on an Eddie Douglas Broken Back Special while wading West Matagorda Bay.
7/22/11 Another TOCIFT participant, Amanda Martin, caught this nice 25" redfish while wading East Matagorda Bay and throwing Roach Bass Assassins. The red uniquely had 11 spots, a tournament winner.


7/21/11 Texas Oilman's Charity Invitational Fishing Tournament (TOCIFT) brought Sheldon Cote and George Matej to town. As you can see from the pics, they each had nice reds.

7/17/11 Carl Scherdin and Michael Patitucci waded East Matagorda Bay's dirty water today throwing Morning Glory and Hot Chicken Bass Assassins to bring in these 12 nice trout up to 28".
7/15/11 Wayne and Carol Brueggen wade fished East Matagorda Bay. Southwest winds had water dirty all over the bay but this duo managed to hang in there to catch these 20 trout, 16-18", on Mirrolure pink Top Dogs and Morning Glory Bass Assassins.

6/28/11 Ken Schneider drifted East Matagorda Bay using live shrimp to bring in this 34" redfish.
6/7/11 John Bryan, dad, 70 years young, along with his 2 sons, Jeff and Jon Bryan, waded East Matagorda Bay with me today. This group ended up with a good catch of trout, 16-24", by chunking Hot Chicken Bass Assassins.
6/5/11 Ruben Benavides and Rey Salinas waded East Matagorda Bay with Capt. Bill to bring in these 20 trout, 16-24". Baits tossed were Hot Chicken Bass Assassins and Mirrolure's Bone She Dogs.
6/3/11 Mike Comer waded East Matagorda Bay to catch these 10 trout, 17-24", and 1 red. He threw Bass Assassins' Hot Chicken and Mirrolure She Dogs.
6/1/11 Lanny Rose from Richmond, Texas and Jimmy Parker from Ransom Canyon, Texas wade fished grass beds in West Matagorda Bay to catch these 18 trout. Baits tossed were Bass Assassins' Chicken-on-a-Chain.
5/27/11 Trey Heath with the results of wade fishing and a top water bait in West Matagorda Bay.

5/25/11 Jim Daniel, Mike Grigar, Ben Cristen, and Will Chapman waded grassbeds in West Matagorda Bay to bring in 36 trout on Mirrolure She Dog Pups, Baby Super Spooks, and Bass Assassins.
5/22/11 David Niles and Jim Reid waded West Matagorda Bay using Hot Chicken and Roach Bass Assassins. Wind was rolling in around 20 knots out of the south. The 12 trout brought in were 17-20".
5/19/11 Will & Ellen Ohmstede along with Buddy & Linda Ohmstede spent a little family bonding time along with some wade fishing over in West Matagorda Bay. By 8:30 AM, 36 trout from 16-21" hit the ice chest. Combination of baits used were Bass Assassin's 10W40, Hot Chicken, and Chicken-on-a-Chain. A fun time for all.
5/18/11 Robert Stehr wade fished grass beds and shell in West Matagorda Bay to catch his limits by 10:00 AM. He threw Mirrolure She Dogs and Chicken-on-a-Chain Bass Assassins.
5/16/11 Cheryl Prather with all the girls from Anadarko Corporation and limits of speckled trout caught while drifting in West Matagorda Bay using live shrimp.
5/7/11 L. Everitt Industrial Supply, Inc. group shown her with a mess of fish caught while wading grass beds in West Matagorda Bay and tossing Bass Assassins and top waters. Bite was early and again at noon with winds blowing out of the south around 20 mph. Bink Grimes and Sunrise Lodge hosted this corporate group, who by the way, will be coming back.
5/1/11 Twins, Bert and Bruce Kivell, waded West Matagorda Bay to catch these reds. The duo threw a pink She Dog and Salt & Pepper Bass Assassin to catch their fish. Winds were gusting up to 30 mph.
4/30/11 Mike Powell and Uncle Sonny braved 25-35+ mph winds today to catch 10 trout, 15 1/2-18", over in West Matagorda Bay. These 2 fishermen threw Bass Assassin's Pumpkinseed Chartreuse Tail.
4/22/11 Craig Harden, Mike Rawlings, Bill Ferro, Dan Rickett, and Terry Haugle caught these 29 trout, 16-21", amidst 25 mph winds gusting to 30, over in West Matagorda Bay fishing grass beds. Another day throwing Roach, Chicken-on-a-Chain, and 10W40 Bass Assassins. Not too bad despite the conditions.
4/21/11 Ben Christen, Jim Daniel, and J. J. Croix waded grass beds in West Matagorda Bay to catch these 30 trout by 8:30 AM. Prime baits today were Hot Chicken, Roach, Orange Paddletail, and Chicken-on-a-Chain Bass Assassins.
4/20/11 Roland, David, and Dale Trevino waded West Matagorda Bay's grass beds to bring in these 30 trout, 16-21", and 2 reds, 22-25". Baits tossed today were Chicken-on-a-Chain and Hot Chicken Bass Assassins.
4/19/11 While wading grass beds in West Matagorda Bay, Brandon Marth and John Hueske (Slim) tossed Roach and Chicken-on-a-Chain Bass Assassins to catch these 20 trout, 16-18".
4/17/11 Bobby Tackaberry and Randy Littlejohn waded West Matagorda Bay amidst 20-25 mph winds. These guys fished the grass beds and chunked Chicken-on-a-Chain, Roach, and 10W40 Bass Assassins to bring in these 20 trout, 16-17".
4/16/11 Shown here are David Niles and Jim Reid with 10 trout caught while wading reefs in East Matagorda Bay. Conditions consisted of dirty water and wind blowing up to 20-25 mph out of the east/northeast. This was a very good day despite the conditions.
4/7/11 Marcus Fiedler, David Brignac, Brian Lee, and Mark Paulson waded West Matagorda Bay during 15-20 mph winds and dirty/off-colored water to bring in these 19 trout, 16-21", and 4 reds up to 25". These guys were throwing Roach Bass Assassins to catch their fish. It was a good day despite the conditions.
4/6/11 Shown is Charles Roberts with a 40-45 lb black drum caught and released while wading West Matagorda Bay and chunking Roach Bass Assassins. We had a boat total of 14 trout and 3 reds amidst poor conditions - dirty water and 25 mph winds.
3/31/11 Lowell Everitt with 10 trout, 17-23", caught on Roach and 10W40 Bass Assassins while wading reefs in East Matagorda Bay.
3/27/11 The JK Welding group fished with myself and two other guides, Capt.'s Charlie Paradoski and Tommy Alexander. We drifted East Matagorda Bay to catch our fish.
3/26/11 David Niles and Jim Reid drifted East Matagorda Bay throwing Rattling Corks and Bass Assassin's Drunk Monkey to bring in these 6 reds 22-26" and 3 trout.
3/20/11 Trey Heath holding up 9 trout and 2 reds that he and his dad, Skip, caught while drifting East Matagorda Bay.
3/19/11 Skip Heath and Blake Mitchell drifted East Matagorda Bay to end the day with 20 trout up to 23" and 3 reds. Chartreuse plastics and Bass Assassin's Drunk Monkey were the ticket.
3/15/11 Randy Garrison fished with Skip Heath and caught this 18" speckled trout in the Diversion Channel on a Bass Assassin.
3/4/11 Duane Sandefer, Joey Firth, Mark Stewart, and Maurice Champion waded West Matagorda Bay to bring in these 30 trout, 2-3 lbs. Baits used were pink slow sinker Corkies and Chicken-on-a-Chain Bass Assassins.
2/21/11 Bob Carroll shown here with the Texas Trio, trout, redfish, flounder, caught while drifting East Matagorda Bay and throwing Chicken-on-a-Chain and 10W40 Bass Assassins.
2/16/11 Gerald Piper, Richie Domel, Darrell Beakley, and Richard Kuenstler fished East Matagorda Bay after the freeze. As you can see, we still have fish in East Matagorda Bay.
1/29/11 Will Toronjo with a first-time trout catch.
12/11/10 David Summers, Bruce Stanfill, Rene and Christian Forest, and Claude Belley drifted East Matagorda Bay to catch 16 trout and 6 reds. Wind was bad out of the west southwest. These guys threw Chicken-on-a-Chain and Hot Chicken Bass Assassins.
